CatFlux

The simple solution for the CatSper Test

Innovative diagnostics for infertile couples

The CatSper Test with CatFlux enables the early detection of CatSper-related infertility for an evidence-based selection of fertility treatment.

No CatSper: No natural conception

Why is the early detection of CatSper-related male infertility through the CatSper Test with CatFlux so important?

The path to the egg

The man’s sperm must navigate through the woman’s reproductive tract to reach the egg in the Fallopian tube.

CatSper is essential for fertilization

For fertilization, sperm have to overcome the egg’s protective coat. To do this, they beat their tail vigorously – what is known as hyperactivation. This swimming behavior is controlled by the sperm protein “CatSper”. Progesterone, a hormone release by cells surrounding the egg, activates CatSper.

CatSper defect: Infertile

If CatSper is defective, sperm get stuck at the egg coat. This not only frustrates natural conception, but also causes IUI and conventional IVF treatments to fail.

CatSper defect: Undetectable.

CatSper-related infertility is not recognized in routine diagnostics.

The CatSper-Test with CatFlux

The CatSper Test enables the early detection of CatSper-related infertility, and thus, an evidence-based therapy selection.

As an andrologist, I advise more than 500 infertile couples per year in my clinic. The CatSper test has significantly improved my work. It is the first validated test that analyzes CatSper function. Regardless of how the CatSper test turns out, it is beneficial for the couple. If the CatSper test is pathological, the path to pregnancy is clear, as ICSI is then the only option. This saves the couple time, but above all, in my experience, it reduces psychological stress. I have also found that a good CatSper test result – which is the case in most cases – is also beneficial for the couple, as it gives them the certainty that there is a realistic chance that either intercourse, IUI or IVF can lead to pregnancy, depending on the woman’s status.
